Forest School in a Time of Covid.

With concerns about health restrictions in schools and uncertainty about how schools will operate in the coming months, many parents are looking for alternative educational experiences for their children this September. At Happy Out Forest School we are offering a midweek opportunity for children in the Ennis area aged 4-10 years to spend time outdoors as part of their weekly routine. Every Wednesday morning will be spent playing and learning beneath the trees, under the professional guidance of 2 highly experienced Forest School Leaders. We use a process of planning-session-review to draw up a tailored timetable of activities on offer each week. The emphasis is on holistic learning that builds self-confidence and resilience. We recognise the importance of choice in how children play and learn and we take care to honour the individuality of each child. Our group size is small, with a maximum of 12 children taken. This ensures that every child’s voice is heard and individual needs are met.

Spending time outdoors boosts the immune system, reduces stress and enhances well-being. Now, more than ever, outdoors is the place to be.
